Role: Project Lead
Team: Heather Cooper, Kevin Boyd, Constance Eza, Rich Capobianco, George Louro, Peter Katz
Realised: 2022
Client: FanExpo HQ & DC Comics
Background: In 2022, FanExpo and DC comics partnered to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Harley Quinn, a collection of 300 sketch covers of Batman Adventures 12.
Statement of Work: Negotiating prices with art agents and artist was both exciting and challenging. It was crucial to know the value of the art I was dealing with and what similar pieces have sold for in the past. That gave me a solid foundation for negotiation. When it came to paying agents and artists and providing tax documentation, organization was key. Keeping accurate records of payments made and received, as well as any relevant tax forms, ensured everything was in order and compliant with regulations. Once the collection was completed all the books were pressed and sent to CGC for grading.
As part of the project marketing strategy, I drafted thoughtful questions and conducted several interviews essential for gathering valuable insights from participating artists.
The Results: The Harley Quinn Sketch Cover Project is set to go on auction in 2024
